Each year, schools of nursing host scholars, visiting professors, and students from around the world. As nurse educators, we make an effort to enthusiastically welcome visitors and to provide rich learning experiences during their stays, which may range from a few days to a year. This chapter presents ideas and insights to assist nurse educators preparing for educational exchanges and hosting colleagues from another country. Suggestions for successful social, cultural, and academic activities are given based on our experiences at the University of Massachusetts Boston as well as the authors experience as a Fulbright Scholar in Finland.
