The creation of a new NATO has recently been on the agenda as this organisation faces a new set of challenges. There are several issues on the agenda, in par-ticular: NATO's strategic objectives, enlargement, the continuation of the Partnership for Peace programme and a redefinition of the relationship between NATO and Russia.
Ambassador Hunter here discusses these issues, explaining firm an insider's point of view how NATO is tackling the ongoing transition. He argues for the continued importance of NATO in securing peace, with a committed United States as a central player.
