Gander Mountain Company is taking stroll down Interstate 81, opening a store in Winchester, its second store in the region following the opening of another in 2001 near the. Chambersburg Mall.

St. Paul, Minn.-based Gander Mountain bills itself as "the nation's: largest retail net work of stores for hunting, fishing, camping, marine and outdoor lifestyle products and services." It started as a catalog company and developed a chain of retail stores starting in 1990.

The 57,500-square-foot WinChester store, located on Commonwealth Court in the Kernsown area, will be near the Sportsplex, an indoor sports, fitness, exhibition and meeting complex. It will be leased as a build-to-suit, said ...
