Article: Twenty Years Later, Santa Ana Still Reaping the Benefits of David Ream

His current projects have to do with Santa Ana's building boom and the elegant transformation taking place to the city's skyline. It is ironic to note his first priority was to slow down new housing projects. Such is the life of David Ream as he celebrates his 20th year as city manager.

The city council appointed Ream to his position in July 1986. Sitting in his 8th floor office looking out at the Civic Center, Ream's fondness for Santa Ana is evident.

"Santa Ana has been a wonderful place to work," Ream said. "I hope to work a few more years and finish my career here.
