The city of West Des Moines issued the following news release: Upon the request of the Des Moines Register, the West Des Moines Police Department is providing a report to the Register regarding an incident involving several juveniles in West Des Moines. It is anticipated that none of the juveniles will be charged with a criminal offense but instead referred to the Polk County Attorney's Office Underage Possession of Alcohol Diversion Program. The Diversion Program seeks to provide education to youthful offenders involved with an alcohol possession violation. The Program focuses on the benefit provided a youthful offender by participating in the Program rather than stigmatizing the offender ...
