Hawaii shoppers found lots of bargains today at stores and malls, as retailers slashed prices hoping to offset a ho-hum holiday season with a burst of post-Christmas buying.
Despite reports of brisk buying in the first weeks of the season, many retailers in the nation failed to maintain that pace through Christmas Eve. Specific numbers were not available for Hawaii retailers but some reported that sales were less than anticipated.
Some stores moved up their opening by an hour or more today to attract more customers.
