I read a Dark Night's Dreaming with pleasure, like a kid tearing into a Stephen King novel. Perhaps the defining grace of this collection of essays is its ability to celebrate, even recreate, the essential pleasure of horror art for its many readers. The eight essays in this collection explore the diverse intersections of horror and contemporary American culture with infectious enthusiasm.
