The government of Sweden issued the following news release:

The Government decided today to send two election monitors to Georgia ahead of the local elections on 5 October.

"The elections are important for creating continued stable and democratic development in the country. By sending election monitors to Georgia, Sweden can contribute to the development of a functioning electoral system in the country," says Minister for International Development Cooperation Carin Jämtin.
