Article: Blue Cross, Acadian Ambulance spar

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana has filed suit against the darling of the nation's ambulance business, alleging Lafayette-based Acadian Ambulance & Air Med Services filed faulty claims or improperly billed Blue Cross over the past six years. The bulk of Blue Cross' contention involves Medicare claims, for which Blue Cross is a supplemental provider.

In its suit against Acadian, filed on Dec. 27 in state and federal court in Baton Rouge, Blue Cross is Seeking $2.67 million, plus interest, attorneys' fees and other costs.
