Article: Bryant feeling heat to resign

TRENTON - When a federal monitor's report concluded this week that state Sen. Wayne Bryant took a no-show job from a state school and then helped that school collect millions of dollars in taxpayer money, it was just the latest ethical strike against the longtime Budget Committee chairman.

Even in the New Jersey Legislature, where ethics laws often are viewed as a hurdle to maneuver around rather than a code to follow, Bryant has stood out. The Camden County Demo-crat collects three public salaries. His relatives collect eight more. In 1992, he earned a rare reprimand from the Senate Ethics Committee for leasing office space to the state without approval.
