Article: Rep. Barton Introduces National Institutes of Health Reform Act

WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 -- Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, has introduced the National Institutes of Health Reform Act of 2006 (H.R. 6164), legislation that would "amend title IV of the Public Health Service Act to revise and extend the authorities of the National Institutes of Health."

The bill, introduced on Sept. 25, was co-sponsored by 14 representatives. It was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
