Article: Japanese Inventor Develops Toner Cartridge Life Management Device

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 29 -- Takehiko Okamura of Nagano, Japan, has developed a device and a method for managing life of toner cartridge, and an image forming apparatus that uses the same.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "It is managed a life of at least one toner cartridge loaded in an apparatus for forming an image on a recording medium with toner stored in the toner cartridge. A counter counts a remaining amount of each of a plurality of predetermined parameters."
