On November 5, 2002 a tornado ripped through Abbeville High School, destroying nearly 54 percent of the existing campus. Resulting in classes being canceled for nearly two weeks. After the destruction of the original high school, the Henry County Board of Education decided to enlist Polyengineering to design a new state-of-the-art-facility.
