All of us can enjoy the big orange or gold Harvest Moon rising this week. Those of us with telescopes also can see the added attraction of the moon passing in front of some famous stars one night.

But in some years it falls in October - such as this year, when Harvest Moon happens on virtually the latest possible date - Oct. 6, Friday.
