Article: SNACK ALLIANCE ISSUES ALLERGY ALERT ON UNDECLARED SOY PROTEIN IN NACHO FLAVORED TORTILLA CHIPS

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services' Food & Drug Administration issued the following recall notice:

Snack Alliance, Inc of Hermiston, Oregon, is voluntarily recalling approximately 32,000 cases of nacho flavored tortilla chips because they may contain undeclared soy protein. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy protein run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. Packages of Nacho flavored tortilla chips having a best by date (which can be found in the upper right hand corner of packages) prior to and including FEBRUARY 7, 2007 distributed in retail stores under the following brands:
