Article: Rep. Lowey Introduces Food Allergy, Anaphylaxis Management Act

WASHINGTON, Oct. 6 -- Rep. Nita M. Lowey, D-New York, has introduced the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management Act of 2006 (H.R. 6290), legislation that would "direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services, in consultation with the Secretary of Education, to develop a policy for managing the risk of food allergy and anaphylaxis in schools, to establish school-based food allergy management grants."

The bill, introduced on Sept. 29, was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee and House Education and the Workforce Committee.
