These are not your mother's fruit-filled gift baskets. No, the goodies Sally Trebing assembles for her customers are much more varied-think Harry Potter's broomstick, a portable sling chair or even steak and potatoes.

"Our baskets are so personalized," said Trebing, 58. "No matter what the occasion, a gift basket really can be a perfect gift."

Trebing had no formal business education or plan when she started Alexandria's Gift Baskets in her Beech Grove home, but she did have know-how. She'd been a buyer and window dresser at J.C. Penney Co. and ran a Brown County gift shop for two years before the economy got the best of her.
