Article: GOV. BREDESEN CELEBRATES NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM

The Tennessee Department of Education issued the following news release:

Gov. Phil Bredesen has proclaimed October 9-13 2006 as National School Lunch Week for Tennessee in recognition of the program's role in fostering the nutritional health and well-being of Tennessee students. The United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) School Lunch Program ensures all students have access to healthy low-cost or free meals. During this week, school systems across the state will provide fun and educational activities that support healthy and nutritious meals. This year's theme is "Vote for School Lunch."
