Fisk Alloy Wire, Inc. has the distinction of developing Percon, a line of environmentally "green" copper alloys used in wire and cable products. The challenge was to replace the high performance standards of cadmium, a very hazardous yet strong and efficient electrical conductor. To meet this challenge, Fisk in 1992 introduced the first two Percon alloys and set out on a long-term project to meet and hopefully exceed the performance requirements established by cadmium copper alloy.
