The USS Enterprise (Big E) (CVN 65) announced its nominee for Air Traffic Controller of the Year in October.

Air Traffic Controller 2nd Class (AW/SW) Samuel Hughes, Air Traffic Controller Carrier Air Traffic Control Center (CATCC) chief, will be representing Big E, going up against other air traffic controllers on the East Coast, and after that, the Navy.

Every year, the Navy recognizes an outstanding air traffic controller with the Air Traffic Controller of the Year award.
