ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 13 -- William L. Jones of Portland, Ore., and Walter J. Schon of Tigard, Ore., have developed a system and a method for automatically protecting private video content using cryptographic security for legacy systems.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A substantially continuous video signal representing video content in the process of being recorded on a transportable storage medium is intercepted.
