New York, Oct 15 -- Punitive measures adopted by the UN Security Council against North Korea aim at preventing it from obtaining technology related to the production of nuclear weapons, ballistic missiles and weapons of mass destruction.
UN members are bound to carry out the sanctions imposed against North Korea Saturday.
The provisions include:
- Direct and indirect supply, sale or transfer to North Korea through their territories or by their nationals using flag vessels and aircraft of any of the following: battle tanks, armoured combat vehicles, large calibre artillery systems, combat aircraft, attack helicopters, warships, missiles or missile systems.
