Article: EGG SALAD RECALLED FOR POSSIBLE LISTERIA CONTAMINATION

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services issued the following news release:

A West Virginia food company has issued a recall of egg salad that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services announced today.

The recall is for Ballard's Farm Egg Salad sold in 12-ounce containers with the code "Best Used By 11/07/06." The product is sold at Wal-Mart and other food retailers in North Carolina. It also has been distributed to Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
