Article: Atlantic City's Bader Field still operating - for blimps only

ATLANTIC CITY - If you drove by Bader Field recently and thought you saw a blimp landing at the closed airport, you weren't imagining things.

Bader Field closed as a general aviation airport on Sept. 30, but the Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey blimp has permission to use the airport until Oct. 31, said the state Department of Transportation.

The state DOT, which oversees the state Department of Aeronautics, issued a temporary license certificate for blimps at the facility, said representative Erin Phalon.
