DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL ORDERS CLAYMONT STEEL TO FIND SOLUTIONS TO SLAG DUST EMISSIONS

Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control issued the following news release:

Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Secretary John A. Hughes today issued an order to Claymont Steel Inc. directing the company to take action to correct violations of Delaware's air pollution laws and regulations at its steel operation in Claymont, Del.

The company was ordered to abate dust slag emissions from the facility that cause or contribute to air pollution in the adjacent community to a level protective of Delaware's citizens and its environment.
