SANTA POD RACEWAY, England (Sept. 7-10) - This year's FIA European Finals featured the biggest spectator attendance in memory and performances that included new FIA European records in Top Fuel, Pro Stock, and Pro Modified.
In FIA Top Fuel, Swiss giant and Top Fuel rookie Urs Erbacher along with U.S. tuner Glen Mikres continued to dominate with big numbers that got him pole position with a 4.747, a new European record.
In the first round, Finn Tommi Haapanen ran a troubled 7.179 to beat Sweden's Tommy Möller, whose machine ran a 7.661 after shaking the tires and tossing the belt. The season championship was decided in the next pair. Håkan Nilsson's Veidec-backed machine ran a winning ...
