Article: NEW ALEXANDRIA UNIT FACILITY HELPS INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION KEEP OUR ROADS MOVING

The Indiana Department of Transportation issued the following news release:

As snow plow trucks from seven counties gathered for their pre-winter inspections today, the Indiana Department of Transportation marked the opening of the new maintenance unit building in Alexandria. The new facility will help INDOT maintenance workers keep the roads open, especially as winter weather sets in later this year.

I helped purchase this unit property when it was a former tractor dealership in 1981, but it was not built for this purpose, said INDOT deputy commissioner Bill Rinard. This brand-new facility will be safer and more environmentally friendly, while enabling us to respond quickly.
