The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency has issued the following press release:
Teresa Lasseter, administrator of USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA), today announced that sign-up begins Nov. 1, 2006, for the $17 million 2005 Dairy Disaster Assistance Payment Program (DDAP-II), which will help dairy producers recover from 2005 hurricane losses. DDAP-II is authorized by the Emergency Agricultural Disaster Assistance Act of 2006.
"Dairy producers suffered production losses from herd deaths, closed processing plants and damaged bulk tanks that caused milk to spoil, all due to the 2005 hurricanes," said Lasseter. "The dairy disaster program funding will help producers recover from ...
