EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION DEGREE APPROVED

Indiana University at Kokomo issued the following news release:

The Indiana Higher Education Commission has approved Indiana University Kokomo's proposal to offer a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. Courses will start in fall 2006.

Joining the existing bachelor's degree in elementary education, the B.S. in Early Childhood Education will focus on learning in the first eight years of life, said Assistant Professor of Education Shirley Aamidor, Ph.D. "The time from birth through age 8 is when early experiences and opportunities begin to define the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical capacities of future learning," she said.
