Article: Japanese Inventor Develops Ink Cartridge

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 4 -- Satoshi Shinada of Nagano-ken, Japan, has developed a plurality of ink cartridges that are detachably attached to a cartridge holder of an inkjet printer and are aligned in parallel.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Each ink cartridge includes a projection or a recess formed at a side of the ink cartridge that faces the adjacent ink cartridge. A set of the projection and the matching recess of each pair of adjacent ink cartridges forms a matching set in which the projection engages with the recess to position the ink cartridges with respect to each other."
