Article: California Inventors Develop Optical Communications Device Enclosure

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- Kirk S. Giboney of Mountain View, Calif., and Jonathan Simon of San Leandro, Calif., have developed an enclosure for an optical communications device with a lid portion and a base portion.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Alignment members adapted to interface with an optical connector are formed on the lid portion. The lid portion is affixed to the base portion with a portion of the communications components therebetween.
