Article: DAILY IOWAN WINS PACEMAKER AWARD FOR TOP CAMPUS NEWSPAPERS

The University of Iowa issued the following news release:

The Daily Iowan, the University of Iowa's student newspaper, has won a Pacemaker Award, which is considered to be the Pulitzer Prize for college journalism.

Awarded to the top college newspapers annually by the Associated Collegiate Press, the Pacemaker recognizes coverage and content, quality of writing and reporting, leadership on the opinion page, evidence of in-depth reporting, design, photography, art and graphics.

This year's award reflects content appearing in the paper during the 2005-06 publishing year. Among those stories reviewed by the judges was coverage of the April 13 Iowa City tornadoes and an in-depth report on house ...
