Article: Japanese Inventors Develop Ink Cartridge

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 14 -- Yasuto Sakai, Koichi Toba and Satoshi Shinada, all from Nagano, Japan, have developed an ink cartridge that supplies ink to a recording apparatus, and a recording apparatus to which this ink cartridge is attached.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An ink cartridge which supplies ink to a recording apparatus, comprises an ink cartridge body for storing ink therein, a supply system for supplying the ink stored in the ink cartridge body to the recording apparatus, and an identification system that is provided for the ink cartridge body and includes data regarding the supply system for supplying the ink to the recording apparatus."
