Article: PROPER LICENSES, PERMITS NEEDED FOR DEER HUNTING

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources issued the following news release:

"We are encouraging hunters to get their tags early and make sure that they have a good handle on the rules and regulations for this year's deer hunt ahead of opening day," says Jean Romback-Bartels, DNR's Northeast Region Land Leader.

She cautions that "If a hunter does not have a deer hunting backtag/license, they cannot legally take a deer." All hunters must validate the deer carcass tag immediately upon killing and before field dressing or moving the deer.

Hunters can save time and money by keeping track of their deer backtag/license, antlerless deer carcass tags, and Hunter Safety Certificates. If the ...
