The city of Gainesville issued the following news release:

On Thursday, November 16th, Gainesville Fire Rescue and Alachua County Fire Rescue will hold a joint Fire Training Live Burn and Sprinkler Exercise at Fire Station 2 and the Gatorwood Apartments training site from 4PM-9PM.

At Fire Station 2, dignitaries and invited guests will receive a briefing on the training exercises, and discuss topics such as the importance of fire safety and fire prevention measures.

After the briefing, the guests will view a live burn demonstration at the Gatorwood Apartments training site, which will feature a Firefighter maze and an Urban Search and Rescue demonstration by Regional Task Force 8. Regional ...
