The Virginia Commission on National & Community Service issued the following news release:
On October 26, 2006, the Corporation for National and Community Service published a proposed rule on Criminal History Checks in the Federal Register. This proposed rule covers all Senior Companion and Foster Grandparent volunteers, as well as all grant-funded employees of these programs. It also applies to AmeriCorps State and National members and grant-funded employees who have access, on a recurring basis, to children, individuals age 60 and older, and individuals with disabilities.
