Somebody ought to circulate the lyrics of Louis Alter, made famous by the legendary jazz artist and famous New Orleans native, Louis Armstrong, "Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans." Every member of my family, with roots in the bayou state since the mid180Os, is now playing this 1947 song. We miss New Orleans-its smell, its weather, its culture, its people, its language and, most importantly, we miss our neighbors and our homes.
