Article: Printing Industry Adapts to New Techniques and Demand for Services

The Wisconsin printing industry annually rolls $7.4 billion in product off its presses and employs 46,000 people, yet while many know of $2 billion giant magazine printer Quad/Graphics, much of the rest of the industry remains largely anonymous.

"Everything sold has some printed material that comes with it," said Niall Power, president and CEO of the Printing Industries of Wisconsin. "Yet we're such a part of everyday life that people don't think about it."

Wisconsin's 1,040 printing plants place it 11th in the country, and the outlook for the industry is good.

"When I'm out in the industry talking to people, they're positive about trends," Power said.
