Article: German Inventors Develop Tank Container Bottom Side Rail Structure

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 20 -- Dieter Pfau of Weitefeld, Germany, and Ulrich Bernhardt of Nenndorf, Germany, have developed a tank container with a bottom side rail unit composed of longitudinal beams, connected with one another by a shell element.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, the "longitudinal beams make the bottom side rail unit extremely light, flat and at the same time deflection resistant, and prevent unwanted vertical strain from acting on the container."
