Yet another doughnut shop is about to open in Spokane, just a couple of weeks after one such outlet opened, just six months after two other shops opened, and not long before doughnut giant Krispy Kreme starts offering its heavily hyped product here.
The new locally owned shops are betting that their recipes and handmade products will enable them to gain customer loyalty and market share.
In the latest planned entry in the doughnut market, MaryJane and Tim Fitzgerald, owners of The Donut Hole Bakery. Their first shop opened six months ago at 5978 Highway 291, in Nine Mile Falls. They say they'll open a second location, at 632 W. Garland, this month.
