At an assessment workshop last year, I sat stunned for two hours as one of the primary contributors to this book teased his audience by repeatedly cutting short substantive discussions with rejoinders that the answer could be found "in the book." Although his comments were offered and received with good humor, I left the session disappointed that the time of so many colleagues who actually wanted to know this stuff had been wasted on this infomercial.
