The city of Norman issued the following news release:

"Winter Weather Preparedness Day" is scheduled for December 6th, 2006 throughout Oklahoma and the Norman Office of Emergency Management urges citizens to prepare for an active winter weather season. "In recent years we've experienced winter weather storms, including devastating ice storms," James Fullingim, Norman's Fire Chief/Emergency Management Director said. "We all need to be aware of these natural threats we face in our community and take responsibility to make sure we are properly prepared when disaster strikes."
