IT was with some hesitation that I accepted an invitation to meet with Peter Grant Gordon, director of William Grant & Sons Ltd. and fifth generation descendant of William Grant, founder (in 1887) of Glenfiddich distillery.
While I don't proclaim to be the All-Knowing Wine Guy, I feel comfortable enough around winemakers and export managers to pick their brains and talk about their wines.
When it comes to scotch whisky, I'm a newbie. I've always wanted to develop a palate that could distinguish between grains, regions and distillery techniques, but have never had the opportunity.
