Article: Italian Inventor Develops Firearms Casing

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 30 -- Ugo Gussalli Beretta of Gardone Val Trompia, Italy, has developed a casing for firearms (in particular for a semi-automatic rifle).

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, the invention relates to a "casing for firearms, comprising a metal sleeve on which is stably applied, through attachment means, a barrel, an inner element made from polymeric material for the anchoring of said sleeve and an outer shell made from polymeric material, is realised through successive overmouldings in sequence of the inner element on the sleeve to form a sleeve--inner element group and then of the shell on the group to form the casing."
