Article: Air show must make money to keep flying

MILLVILLE - One rained-out day could have cost the Millville Army Air Field Museum the future of its air show, said Russell Davis, museum president and air show director.

This year was the first time we had to actually close down the show for an entire day, Davis said. And in doing so, the museum lost an estimated $30,000 in ticket sales and performances that had already been paid for.

The cost of the air show is as much as $300,000, which the museum must break even on this coming year, otherwise serious consideration will be given toward its future, Davis said.
