SYRACUSE - Credit unions practice what they preach when it comes to patronizing banks. More than 700 state credit unions are members of Empire Corporate Federal Credit Union. The not-for-profit institution clears checks, transfers funds, and provides other financial services for member credit unions. Empire's field of membership is composed of credit unions, rather than individuals.
"We're the credit unions' credit union," says Dana Flint, corporatecommunications writer for Empire Corporate FCU.
