Older adults with human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS) and chronic depression constitute a growing population of individuals in need of quality nursing care management. Although the small amounts of research currently available focus on both middleaged and older adults living with these chronic conditions, this article offers specific suggestions for the nursing care of older adults who have been diagnosed with HIV, have experienced the progression of HIV to AIDS, and who have lived with chronic depression prior to the onset of HIV/AIDS.
