Article: MISSOURI STATE FAIR DIRECTOR WILLARD RETIRES

The Missouri Department of Agriculture issued the following news release:

Mel Willard, Director of the Missouri State Fair, announced his retirement from the position effective January 1, 2007. Willard has a long history with the organization starting in 1984 as the electrician. He advanced through the ranks serving as Operations Manager and the Assistant Director before being named Director in 2001.

Willard said, "My wife and I plan to move to the Lake of the Ozarks area. We will relax and spend more time with our family."
