TURBOEXPANDERS CARVE OUT NEW NICHE MARKETS

Recently, the Gas and Process division of Atlas Copco Energas GmbH (Cologne, Germany) bagged an order for the supply of turboexpander-compressors for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) ships. The machines will help re-liquefy gas on-board, enabling the vessels to migrate from steam plants using boil-off gas to efficient reciprocating engines burning inexpensive heavy oil.
