Kangra Valley (Himachal Pradesh), Dec 7 -- Silk producers in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra Valley have approached the state government with a request to provide funds for improving the quality of silk production.

In the absence of a proper market for small silk units, silk producers face tough competition from their big counterparts due to the monopoly prevalent in the market.

Small units feel that if the state government does not come up with alternatives for them to reap benefits, they will perish.
